Hershey’s Made an Affogato-Flavored Candy Bar, and It’s Dessert Inside Dessert

Hershey’s launched new Affogato and Salted Caramel Creme Bars in full-size and snack-size formats. Here is what is inside them and where to look.

Quick answer: Hershey’s has launched two new Creme Bars: Affogato and Salted Caramel Creme. Both are available now at participating retailers as 2.2-ounce bars and in 8.4-ounce pouches of snack-size bars. Prices will vary by retailer.

Hershey’s has officially made an affogato-flavored candy bar.

That sentence sounds like a dessert menu dared the candy aisle to get weird, but it is real. The new bar landed alongside a Salted Caramel Creme flavor, which means Hershey has given us one choice for the curious and one choice for the person who already knows exactly what caramel can do.

This is not a taste test or review; the bars are newly announced, and the details below come from Hershey’s product information. It is, however, a very serious examination of why the Affogato wrapper is about to stop people in the candy aisle.

The Affogato bar is doing the most

The Hershey’s Affogato Creme Bar starts with milk chocolate, then adds a two-part filling made with espresso-flavored caramel and vanilla creme.

To be clear, Hershey did not somehow tuck a scoop of melting ice cream inside the wrapper. The bar borrows the coffee-and-vanilla idea of the Italian dessert and turns it into a shelf-stable filling. That distinction matters, but it does not make the whole thing sound any less dramatic.

The Affogato bar pairs espresso-flavored caramel with vanilla creme inside milk chocolate.
It is dessert inspired by a dessert, wrapped in chocolate. Honestly, subtlety was never invited to this meeting.

Salted Caramel Creme is the safer choice — but not the boring one

The second release is the Hershey’s Salted Caramel Creme Bar. This one keeps the formula straightforward: milk chocolate around a salted caramel creme filling.

If espresso-flavored caramel feels like too many plot twists for one snack, this is the easier place to start. It still moves well beyond a plain chocolate bar without asking you to decide how emotionally prepared you are for coffee candy.

The Salted Caramel Creme bar keeps the filling focused on salted caramel.
KATSEYE is giving the launch a “Pinky Up” moment

Hershey partnered with global girl group KATSEYE for a campaign called Pinky Up. Hershey says more campaign pieces are coming, including sampling and pop-up experiences later this fall and Uber tie-ins around selected cultural events.

There are no public dates or cities for those experiences in the announcement yet, so do not plan a road trip around a mystery pop-up. The useful move is to wait for the actual details.

Where can you buy the new Hershey’s Creme Bars?

According to Hershey’s official announcement, both flavors are available now at participating retailers. Each comes in a 2.2-ounce standard bar and an 8.4-ounce pouch filled with snack-size bars.

Hershey did not announce one set price because retailers decide what to charge. Translation: check the shelf or store app before promising anyone a precise candy budget.

This is also not Hershey’s only major release right now. The company recently revealed more than 20 new and returning Hersheyween treats for 2026, because apparently the candy aisle needed an entire fall cinematic universe.

The Affogato bar is the one people will stop to talk about. Salted Caramel Creme is the one that may quietly disappear from the snack drawer first.

Either way, the regular Hershey bar just showed up to the party aggressively underdressed.

Wondering if a love spell is working or if it's just confirmation bias? Here is how to tell real emotional movement from hopeful thinking.

TL;DR

There is no reliable test proving a love spell caused a specific outcome. Treat vivid dreams, repeated numbers, or unexpected texts as personal interpretations rather than magical evidence. To evaluate what is happening, look for real-world changes like clear communication and respected boundaries while actively watching out for confirmation bias.

When you really want a relationship to work out, every single detail starts to feel like a sign from the universe. A sudden text message, a song on the radio, or seeing 11:11 on your microwave clock can suddenly feel like absolute confirmation that your intentions are taking root.

It is completely human to look for patterns when your heart is invested in something. But if you practice spellwork or folk magic, staying grounded matters just as much as setting intentions—maybe even more. The line between a genuine shift in dynamic and plain old hopeful thinking gets blurry fast.

So how do you actually separate real emotional movement from just seeing what you desperately want to see? You take a step back and run a very plain, zero-nonsense reality check.

What is confirmation bias, and how does it trick your brain?

Before you start decoding every dream or coincidence as cosmic feedback, you have to understand how your brain processes hope. Humans are naturally wired for confirmation bias—a psychological pattern where we notice and remember information that matches what we want to believe, while completely ignoring evidence that says otherwise.

If you cast a spell or set an intention to draw someone closer, your brain goes on high alert for anything that supports that goal. They viewed your Instagram story? You count it as magic. They walked right past you in the grocery store without saying hello? Your brain quietly files that under “irrelevant” and forgets it five minutes later.

According to an extensive review by the American Psychological Association, hypothesis testing in human cognition is heavily skewed toward seeking confirming evidence rather than disconfirming facts. When you are emotionally attached to an outcome, your mind will happily manufacture a narrative out of thin air. Recognizing this tendency is not being cynical—it is just being honest with yourself.

How can you do an honest evidence check on your expectations?

If you want to keep your feet on the ground, you need a simple system to check your own assumptions. You cannot test magic in a laboratory, but you can definitely test whether you are being objective about your day-to-day life.

Try running a four-step reality check:

1. Write down your expectations in advance. Before or right after you set an intention, write down specifically what success looks like in plain terms (e.g., “We have a clear, honest conversation about where we stand”).

2. Define what counts against it. Name the clear signs that would mean things are not moving forward—like canceled plans, unreturned calls, or dry communication.

3. Set a mandatory waiting period. Do not analyze every single interaction in real time. Give it two or three weeks before you evaluate the dynamic as a whole.

4. Ask what would have happened without the ritual. If the person was already going to text you about a shared project anyway, that text is just normal routine—not a supernatural event.

Setting these ground rules stops you from constantly moving the goalposts every time you feel anxious.

What are observable signs of real emotional movement versus simple coincidences?

Spiritual traditions often talk about internal shifts, but healthy relationships live in the physical world. If something is genuinely improving in a connection, it shows up in clear, tangible human behavior—not just subtle coincidences.

Real movement looks like consistent effort, direct communication, and mutual enthusiasm. It looks like someone actively prioritizing your time, respecting your boundaries, and making a conscious choice to participate in your life. None of these behaviors prove that a ritual caused them, but they do prove that a real-world dynamic exists.

On the flip side, vague occurrences—like seeing angel numbers, dreaming about an ex, or having a stray feather land at your feet—are internal interpretations. They might reflect your own mind processing feelings, but they do not mean another person is experiencing a sudden change of heart. In fact, many guides on love spells that actually work emphasize that the real value of any practice lies in gaining personal clarity, not controlling someone else’s phone.

What red flags mean you are crossing into obsession or boundary pushing?

It is easy to start with harmless intention-setting and slowly slide into unhealthy hyper-fixation. When sign-seeking turns into constant monitoring, you have crossed a line from grounded practice into obsession.

Keep an eye out for these clear red flags:

Hyper-analyzing digital activity: Checking someone’s social media followers, status, or story views multiple times an hour to hunt for “signs.”

Ignoring a clear “no”: Treating direct rejections, unreturned messages, or boundaries as merely “obstacles” that magic will eventually overcome.

Spending escalating amounts of money: Paying self-proclaimed psychics or practitioners hundreds of dollars for promised or guaranteed results.

Disregarding consent: Trying to bend, force, or override another person’s free will.

A consent-aware spiritual practice doesn’t treat magic as permission to strip someone else of autonomy. If a dynamic requires constant energetic maneuvering or boundary-pushing just to keep it alive, that is not a connection—it is exhausting work.

Why does focusing on self-love usually yield clearer answers?

When you spend all your energy monitoring another person’s energy, you lose track of your own standard of living. This is why redirecting your focus inward can give you clearer feedback than watching for external signs.

When people focus on personal growth, confidence, and internal healing, the results are much easier to track. You stop settling for breadcrumbs, you communicate your needs without fear, and you walk away from situations that do not serve you. Recognizing the signs a self-love spell is working usually comes down to feeling more secure in your own skin—which automatically improves how you handle all your relationships.

Ultimately, magic or intention-setting was never meant to be a substitute for basic human communication. You cannot decode a healthy relationship strictly through tarot spreads, repeating digits, or subtle energy shifts.

If someone wants to be in your life, their actions will show it clearly, consistently, and without requiring a secret decoder ring. Pay attention to how people actually treat you in daylight—that is always the only sign that matters.

Wondering how long love spells take to work? Explore traditional timeframes, free will, psychology, and observable real-world relationship signs.

TL;DR

There is no scientific timeline for love spells, and no ritual can guarantee a relationship outcome or override free will. Traditional spiritual practices often reference timeframes like three days, three weeks, or a full lunar cycle, but these are belief-based symbolic frameworks. Real-world relationship progress depends on clear intentions, mutual consent, respectful communication, and observable behavior.

You do a ritual, write out an intention, or set a candle on your altar, and then you sit there staring at your phone like it owes you money. You want to know when—or if—anything is actually going to shift. It’s one of the most common questions in modern spiritual communities, and it makes total sense because nobody likes sitting around in emotional limbo.

Here is the grounded truth right up front: there is no universal clock or cosmic countdown. No ritual, intention, or spiritual practice can override another human being’s choice or guarantee a specific romantic outcome. Anyone telling you a spell will deliver a person to your doorstep in 48 hours is selling you something.

What spiritual traditions do offer are symbolic frameworks for timing—often tied to lunar phases or three-part check-ins. When you pair those traditional frameworks with real-world communication, psychological awareness, and observable behavior, you get a much clearer picture of where things actually stand.

Why is there no exact timeline for love spells?

In spiritual and folk traditions, love spells are generally understood as tools for focusing personal intention, clarifying desires, or aligning your own energy—not as remote controls for another person’s actions. Many consent-aware modern practitioners emphasize ethics, free will, and personal autonomy. A ritual cannot compel someone to feel something they do not feel or force a relationship that isn’t naturally grounded in mutual interest.

Because relationships involve two independent human beings with their own choices, emotional baggage, and daily lives, there is no predictable math formula. Timing in these belief-based frameworks is commonly treated as variable, non-linear, and deeply dependent on real-world conditions.

When people ask about timing, what they’re usually looking for is certainty. But spiritual traditions emphasize that attempting to exert rigid control over timing usually backfires, creating anxiety instead of connection. As explored in our guide to love spells, the most grounded practices focus on building internal confidence rather than trying to manage someone else’s timeline.

What are the traditional timeframes people talk about?

While there are no scientific guarantees, traditional folk practices and modern pagan communities often organize timing around specific symbolic windows. These aren’t cosmic deadlines — they’re structured check-ins to help practitioners reflect and maintain patience.

Here are the most common traditional timing frameworks:

The 3-Day Window: Often viewed in folklore as the initial period where internal focus and intention settle. Practitioners use this window to ground themselves, notice their own feelings, and refrain from impulsive actions.

The 3-Week Check-In: In many practitioner circles, three weeks represents a full cycle of observation. It’s a time to ask: have you shifted your behavior, or are you still sitting in the exact same emotional loop?

One Lunar Cycle (28 Days): Using a lunar cycle provides a familiar timing framework for reflection. A full cycle—moving from new moon to full moon and back—gives a structured four-week window to observe gradual, real-world development.

Treating these timeframes as absolute deadlines is a mistake. They exist in folklore as rhythmic check-ins for the person holding the intention, not as magical countdown clocks running on the target.

How do psychology and positive expectations play a role?

There is a massive difference between setting a clear intention that motivates constructive action and falling into passive daydreaming. Modern psychology offers a very clear perspective on why this distinction matters so much in relationships.

Research on motivation distinguishes positive expectations grounded in reality from passive fantasies; realistic expectations can support effort, while idealized fantasies may reduce it. On the flip side, passive positive fantasies—fantasizing about a perfect romantic outcome without doing any of the real-world work—can actually lower your energy and motivation to act.

In fact, a prominent study on positive visualization demonstrated that idealizing an outcome without engaging the necessary effort often results in less actual achievement. If a ritual makes you feel like the outcome is completely handled without you having to speak up or show up, it might actually be working against your goals.

What should you pay attention to in the real world?

Spiritual practices should never replace direct, grounded reality. If you want to know how a relationship is progressing, you don’t look for cryptic signs in the clouds — you look at clear human behavior.

Pay attention to these concrete, real-world factors:

Observable Behavior: Is the person actively reaching out, making plans, and following through? Effort is a deliberate choice, not an accident.

Direct Communication: Honest, respectful conversations will tell you more in five minutes than weeks of reading into vague social media posts.

Your Own Internal State: When working on self-concept, the clearest movement shows up in your own boundaries first. Paying attention to signs a self-love spell is working means noticing if you feel calmer, more secure, and less willing to settle for breadcrumbs.

If the real-world evidence shows distance, disinterest, or lack of enthusiasm, no spiritual interpretation changes those facts. Respecting someone’s explicit boundaries and observable choices is essential.

When is it time to put the intention down and move on?

One of the healthiest skills in any practice—spiritual or psychological—is knowing when to let go. Waiting endlessly for a sign or a shift places your life on pause and hands your personal power over to an uncertain outcome.

If a full lunar cycle (or several weeks) passes and there is zero real-world progress, no open communication, or clear disinterest, that is valuable information. Holding on past that point often crosses from hope into anxiety and attachment.

Stepping away doesn’t mean you failed or that your intention was wrong. It simply means you honor your own time and self-respect enough to stop waiting. Releasing the outcome allows you to refocus your energy on connections that are active, mutual, and enthusiastic right now.

Ultimately, any intention-setting practice or personal ritual is really a mirror. It shows you what you value, what you’re hoping for, and what you’re willing to accept in your life.

If a practice helps you get clear on your boundaries, speak openly, and feel more confident in your own skin, it has real personal value. But if it leaves you anxiously checking your phone every twenty minutes, it’s time to step back and breathe.

Real romantic connection happens out in the open air, built on mutual choice, consent, and clear real-world effort. You deserve a relationship that shows up willingly and doesn’t keep you guessing.

Known as the Harvest Moon, it sits in Aries in tropical astrology. Symbolically, this full moon marks a season of taking inventory, releasing outdated habits, and taking bold personal action.

Full moons in autumn always hit a little differently. Maybe it’s the shift in light, or maybe it’s just that September brings a distinct back-to-school urge to get your life in order — either way, this one deserves a spot on your calendar.

If you want the quick scheduling answer right up front: the September 2026 full moon reaches its peak on Saturday, September 26, 2026. But depending on where you live on the map, that peak might happen while the sun is still up in your sky.

Here’s everything you need to know about the timing, the astronomical name, and the symbolic meanings attached to this autumn full moon.

Exact peak time: when is the September 2026 full moon?

For readers in Mountain Daylight Time — including Denver, Colorado — the September 2026 full moon reaches its exact astronomical peak on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 10:49 a.m. MDT. You can double-check exact astronomical timing for your zip code on timeanddate.com.

If you live outside Mountain Time, you’ll want to convert that moment to your local clock — 12:49 p.m. EDT for the East Coast, or 9:49 a.m. PDT for the West Coast. Because the peak lands during daytime hours across North America, you won’t be staring at a bright full disk right at 10:49 a.m.

That doesn’t mean you miss out on the view. The moon appears practically full to the naked eye for roughly 24 hours before and after its exact technical peak — meaning Friday night, September 25, and Saturday night, September 26, will both offer fantastic moonlight.

Why is the September 2026 moon called the Harvest Moon?

The September 2026 full moon carries the traditional title of Harvest Moon. That isn’t just a cozy seasonal nickname — according to Space.com, the Harvest Moon is specifically defined as the full moon that falls closest to the September autumnal equinox.

Historically, this moon earned its title for practical agricultural reasons. In the days before electric tractors and high-powered field lights, the bright moonrise immediately after sunset gave farmers several extra hours of evening illumination to gather mature crops before early autumn frosts set in.

While most of us aren’t out in the fields bringing in corn late at night, the name remains a useful reminder of physical shifts in nature — shorter days, longer shadows, and the end of summer growth.

What is the spiritual meaning of the September 2026 full moon in Aries?

In tropical astrology, the September 2026 full moon occurs while the moon aligns with the sign of Aries. It’s important to separate astronomy — physical celestial mechanics — from astrology, which operates as a symbolic framework for self-reflection rather than scientific fact.

Astrologically, Aries is a fire sign governed by concepts of initiative, independence, courage, and boundary-setting. When paired with a full moon — which traditionally symbolizes culmination and clarity — symbolic interpretations focus on evaluating where you need to step up for yourself.

Where the Harvest Moon encourages taking stock of past efforts, Aries energy brings a sharp, forward-moving contrast. It asks simple questions: what project are you stalling on out of self-doubt? Where are you pleasing others at your own expense?

Much like earlier seasonal shifts — like reading into the spiritual meaning of the June 2026 Strawberry Moon — using celestial points for periodic check-ins offers a structured excuse to pause and reset your personal momentum.

Do you need to align your moon practice with the exact minute of peak full moon?

Short answer: absolutely not. There is a common myth in online spiritual spaces that missing the exact minute of a moon phase ruins the reflection process. That’s simply untrue.

Moon phases represent a gradual gradient, not a light switch. The human eye cannot tell the difference between a moon that is 99.2% illuminated on Friday evening and 100% illuminated on Saturday morning.

If you use full moons for journaling or personal reflection, pick a quiet evening when you actually have time to sit without rushing — whether that’s Friday, September 25, or Saturday night, September 26. Intentional focus matters far more than precise clock watching.

How can you do a simple Harvest Moon reflection ritual without fire or fuss?

Spiritual traditions and reflection exercises don’t require complex supplies, spells, or risk. Nothing you do during a moon phase can control another person or guarantee a specific external outcome — but a thoughtful ritual can clarify your own choices.

Here is a simple, safe three-step reflection exercise for the Harvest Moon:

1. Harvest your wins: Grab a notepad and write down three specific things you built, finished, or survived over the last six months. Acknowledge your own effort.

2. Identify the weed: Write down one habit, obligation, or boundary frustration currently draining your energy. Decide on one practical step to adjust it.

3. Drink a glass of water and take action: Sip a cold glass of water as a physical marker for a mental reset. Then immediately complete one small, 2-minute physical task related to your goal — send the email, declutter the desk, or set the reminder.

Finding the best time to manifest personal goals usually comes down to quiet internal clarity rather than waiting for perfect cosmic permission. Simple works best.

Discover the science and spiritual meaning behind the 2026 fall equinox on September 22/23, plus practical ways to practice seasonal reflection.

TL;DR

The 2026 fall equinox occurs on September 22/23, marking the exact astronomical moment daylight and night reach near-equal length. Spiritually, seasonal traditions treat it as a checkpoint for balance, harvest, and quiet reflection — an opportunity to celebrate what grew, release mental clutter, and prepare for winter’s rest.

Every autumn, right around the time coffee shops start flooding our lives with cinnamon and nutmeg, the calendar hits a quiet reset button. The fall equinox arrives, and along with the crisp air comes a flood of internet chatter about “cosmic shifts” and mystical portals.

Let’s dial it back for a second. You don’t need a stack of expensive crystals or a three-hour ritual to appreciate what this moment actually represents. The equinox is a physical, astronomical event with a rich tapestry of human storytelling wrapped around it.

Whether you’re looking for practical ways to ground yourself before winter or you’re just curious about what the science and history actually say, here is what the September 2026 equinox is really all about — without the mystical fluff.

What is the exact science behind the 2026 fall equinox?

Astronomically speaking, the autumn equinox happens at the precise instant the Sun crosses Earth’s celestial equator heading southward. In 2026, that moment occurs on September 23 at 00:05 UTC. Depending on where you live, that translates to the evening of September 22 — specifically around 6:05 p.m. MDT in Denver, or 8:05 p.m. EDT on the East Coast.

According to solar details published by NASA, the word equinox stems from Latin for “equal night.” However, that doesn’t mean day and night are split into exactly twelve hours down to the second everywhere on Earth. Atmospheric refraction bends sunlight slightly over the horizon, giving most locations a few extra minutes of light on the equinox itself.

What it does mark is the start of astronomical autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. From this exact moment forward, nights grow progressively longer than days until the winter solstice in December. It’s a natural physical transition — pure planetary tilt — that humans have observed for thousands of years.

Why do people view the autumn equinox as a spiritual turning point?

While astronomy gives us the raw numbers, human culture gives the moment its emotional weight. In many contemporary spiritual interpretations, the autumn equinox symbolizes balance, harvest, and release. Because light and dark are temporarily in near-equal proportion, symbolic traditions view this day as a mirror for balance in your daily life.

In parts of the Northern Hemisphere, the season overlaps with harvest work and preparation for colder months. Contemporary spiritual practices often turn those practical seasonal tasks into personal metaphors: take stock of what grew, store what supports you, and release what no longer does.

Today, people use the equinox as a natural check-in point. It’s a time to celebrate what you’ve cultivated over the past six months — whether that’s a personal goal, a career shift, or a relationship — while recognizing that winter is a season for rest, not endless hustle. Much like reflecting on the Strawberry Moon 2026 spiritual meaning, seasonal markers offer a rhythmic reminder that human energy moves in cycles.

How can you use equinox energy for personal reflection without getting overly mystical?

You don’t need expensive gear or claims of reality-bending magic to participate in seasonal reflection. Spiritual practices don’t come with guaranteed physical outcomes, and no ritual can control another person’s choices. But taking ten minutes to pause and audit your mindset can make your next step more concrete.

A simple, practical equinox check-in focuses on four distinct questions:

First, what grew? Look at the goals, habits, or projects that came to fruition for you since spring. Give yourself actual credit for the effort.

Second, what needs pruning? Identify the routines, commitments, or mental clutter draining your energy as daylight shrinks. Carrying unnecessary stress into winter only makes the season harder.

Third, what support do you need? Darker, colder months require a different kind of internal fuel. Consider what boundaries or restful habits will help protect your health.

Finally, offer one simple act of gratitude. Write down three things that sustained you this year, or send a quick note to someone who supported you. A brief gratitude list is simply one way to name what supported you — no magic required. If you like aligning your personal goal-setting with natural cycles, reviewing the best time to manifest can offer a fresh, grounded look at how intention-setting really works.

What is the biggest misconception about equinox traditions?

One common myth online is that every culture shared one universal ancient equinox ritual. They didn’t. Communities developed different seasonal customs based on their own geography, food systems, histories, and spiritual worldviews.

That means a modern personal reflection practice shouldn’t be presented as a borrowed ancient ceremony. Keep it honest: notice the seasonal change where you live, use your own words, and learn directly from reliable sources when you want to understand a specific living tradition.

What is happening in the Southern Hemisphere during the September equinox?

It’s easy to fall into a Northern Hemisphere bias when discussing autumn leaves and cozy sweater weather. But because Earth is a sphere, the September equinox carries the exact opposite physical and symbolic meaning for half the world.

While the Northern Hemisphere turns toward autumn, people in Australia, South America, and Southern Africa are celebrating the arrival of spring. For them, September 22/23 is the vernal equinox — a season of fresh blooms, expanding daylight, and planting new crops.

Keeping this global context in mind provides a great reality check. The equinox isn’t a cosmic force affecting human consciousness in a single, uniform way. It’s a relationship between our planet and the Sun, and your experience of it depends entirely on where your feet are planted.

At its core, the 2026 fall equinox is simply an invitation to slow down and notice the turning of the year. Science explains the shifting light, while seasonal traditions offer us a quiet moment to catch our breath before winter arrives.

You don’t need a elaborate setup or mystical claims to make the day meaningful. Take a short walk, wrap your hands around a warm drink, and take inventory of where you are right now.

The light is shifting, the seasons are turning, and taking a moment to rest is always a good idea. That’s really all there is to it.

Discover the spiritual meaning of the September 10, 2026 new moon in Virgo, peak times, practical rituals, and grounded intention setting.

TL;DR

The September 10, 2026 new moon in Virgo centers spiritually on quiet resets, practical self-care, and streamlining everyday routines. Occurring at 9:27 p.m. MDT, this lunation provides symbolic momentum to declutter mental space, clarify personal boundaries, and build grounded habits that support long-term well-being without overwhelming expectations.

If you’ve ever felt the sudden, overwhelming urge to overhaul your life on a random Thursday evening by reorganizing your spice rack or color-coding your digital calendar — you already understand the vibe of Virgo energy.

Every lunar cycle offers a fresh start, but when a new moon lands in an earth sign like Virgo, the focus shifts away from high-vibe dreaming and straight down to the practical details of daily life. It is less about wishing on a far-off star and more about cleaning off your desk so you can actually hear yourself think.

Whether you tune into astrological cycles every month or simply enjoy marking celestial events on your calendar, the September 10, 2026 new moon provides a grounded moment for reflection, simple organization, and realistic self-care.

What exact date and time does the September 10, 2026 new moon occur?

Mark your calendar: the new moon officially reaches its peak lunation phase on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

For readers observing from Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) — like in Denver, Colorado — peak timing occurs at exactly 9:27 p.m. MDT, according to astronomical phase data from Time and Date. Depending on where you live in the world, the exact clock time on your wall will shift across your local time zone, but the physical celestial alignment happens at that precise global moment.

Unlike full moons — such as the glowing Strawberry Moon in 2026 that lights up summer skies — a new moon is visually quiet. You won’t see a bright orb hanging outside your window. Instead, the sky remains dark, creating a serene environment that stargazers and spiritual seekers alike treat as a natural signal to slow down and turn inward.

What is the astronomical science behind a new moon?

Before diving into symbolism and spiritual traditions, it helps to keep the basic physics straight.

Astronomically speaking, a new moon happens when the Moon is positioned roughly between Earth and the Sun during its regular orbit. The sunlit half faces mostly away from Earth, so the Moon is generally lost in the Sun’s glare from our viewpoint. From our vantage point on the ground, the Moon appears invisible against the night sky.

This dark phase marks the start of a brand-new lunar cycle. Over the following days, a tiny sliver of light gradually reappears along the lunar crescent as it waxes toward full illumination. Science explains the orbital mechanics, while spiritual folklore across history uses this transition from dark to light as a metaphor for renewal, rest, and fresh starts.

Why is the September 2026 new moon in Virgo spiritually significant?

In astrological traditions, every lunation takes on the symbolic qualities of the zodiac sign hosting it. Event tracking from Cafe Astrology identifies this September 10 event as a Virgo new moon.

Virgo is an earth sign traditionally linked with discernment, practical care, organization, health, and refining routines. While planetary positions are scientific facts, the spiritual meanings assigned to them belong to interpretive tradition. They serve as reflective archetypes rather than hard physical forces.

Where a fire sign new moon might push for dramatic leaps or sudden grand gestures, Virgo energy encourages steady micro-steps. It favors quiet efficiency and functional wellness. Spiritually, this energy asks straightforward questions: What daily habits are currently helping you thrive? Where are you wasting energy? What tiny adjustments would make your weekly schedule feel twenty percent smoother?

How can you use Virgo energy for practical self-care and boundaries?

Self-care gets heavily marketed online as luxury spa days or elaborate shopping sprees, but Virgo energy offers a reality check: real self-care is often wonderfully unglamorous.

Under this lunation, practical self-care means tackling low-grade friction in your daily environment. It is fixing the wobbly table leg you bump every morning, cleaning out your email inbox, or setting a firm boundary around your evening downtime.

Virgo’s analytical instinct can sometimes spiral into perfectionism if you let it run wild. The goal here isn’t to engineer a flawless routine or hold yourself to impossible standards. Instead, focus on discernment — separating what is truly useful from what is just extra clutter. If you’ve been researching the best time to manifest or set clearer goals, combining honest self-reflection with clear boundaries is where symbolic intentions turn into useful real-world actions.

Establishing boundaries around your work schedule, social commitments, or smartphone notification settings gives your mind room to recover. That mental breathing room is where genuine rest actually happens.

What is a simple three-intention ritual for the Virgo new moon?

You don’t need expensive crystals, rare herbs, or complicated spellwork to mark a new moon. A grounded, intentional practice centered on tangible, realistic goals works far better than grand symbolic gestures.

Here is a simple, three-part framework you can write down in a notebook on the evening of September 10:

1. One routine to begin: Choose one tiny, supportive daily habit. Keep it ridiculously small — drinking a glass of water right after waking up, stretching for two minutes, or reading five pages before bed. Micro-habits stick; massive life overhauls usually collapse under their own weight.

2. One task to simplify: Pick one responsibility on your weekly checklist that feels overly chaotic. Can you streamline your grocery list, set an automatic bill pay, or declutter your workspace? Simplifying routine tasks saves precious decision-making energy for what matters.

3. One boundary to clarify: Identify one personal limit you need to set or protect. That might mean closing your computer by 6 p.m. or politely declining social invitations that feel draining.

Write these three focus points on a paper, keep it somewhere visible, and focus on steady progress over perfection. Spiritual rituals are tools for personal mindfulness and clarity — not methods to guarantee future events or control other people.

Celestial milestones like the September 10, 2026 new moon in Virgo offer helpful reminders to slow down, pare back unnecessary noise, and check in on your personal foundations. You don’t need a total life transformation to feel clearer and more grounded.

Focus on the small stuff — the quiet routines, the solid boundaries, and the simple tasks that make your days feel manageable. When you take good care of the everyday details, the bigger picture usually takes care of itself.

Hersheyween 2026 includes more than 20 Halloween treats, from Kit Kat Count & Witch bars and tricky gummies to Cookies 'N' Creme Fangs.

Hershey’s Halloween lineup is enormous this year. The company has announced more than 20 seasonal candy and snack innovations across chocolate, gummies, fruit chews, popcorn and salty snacks.

The 2026 collection—appropriately called Hersheyween—includes new Kit Kat shapes, deceptive Jolly Rancher gummies, the return of Cookies ‘N’ Creme Fangs and several big variety packs made for trick-or-treat night.

What is new for Hersheyween 2026?

Here are the releases most likely to disappear from the candy bowl first:

Kit Kat Count & Witch: one package with two break-apart Halloween shapes, available in regular, king and six-pack sizes

Hershey’s Cookies ‘N’ Creme Fangs: snack-size white creme bars returning for the first time since 2024

Jolly Rancher Gummies Trickies Minis: Halloween shapes with colors that intentionally do not match their flavors

Jolly Rancher Gummies Minis: small versions of the classic gummies

Sweets Assortment: a stand-up bag with Sour Strips, Jolly Rancher Gummies Trickies Minis, Gummies Minis and strawberry Twizzlers

Hershey Halloween All-Stars: 18 full-size treats with limited shapes and flavors, including Reese’s Pumpkins and Kit Kat Count & Witch

The Trickies gummies may be the most fun idea in the box. Their green apple, blue raspberry, cherry, grape and watermelon flavors are disguised by mismatched colors, turning each piece into a tiny guessing game.

Which Hershey Halloween favorites are returning?

Reese’s Pumpkins return, including an Amazon-exclusive Reese’s Pumpkin Bowl packed with 110 snack-size treats. Hershey’s Cookies ‘N’ Creme Fangs also make their first seasonal return since 2024.

On the salty side, the lineup includes Pirate’s Booty Trick-or-Treat snack packs and Pirate’s Booty Boos & Bites with ghost and monster shapes. The wider Hersheyween portfolio also includes seasonal popcorn and mixed sweet-and-salty options.

Why are gummies such a big part of the Halloween lineup?

Hershey’s seasonal research found that many families buy non-chocolate candy well before October. According to the company’s 2026 State of the Season data, 72% of surveyed parents said they were likely to buy gummies early, compared with 68% for fruit chews and 61% for sour strips or belts.

That explains why this year’s collection feels much broader than a bag of mini chocolate bars. Hershey is treating Halloween as an entire snack season, with candy for early decorating, movie nights, parties and the actual trick-or-treat bowl.

The company says the seasonal products will be available at retailers nationwide, although exact selection will vary by store. If the Count & Witch Kit Kats or color-switching Trickies are on your list, it is worth checking seasonal aisles early.

Cheez-It Is Taking Over a Los Angeles Food Court With a Wild Limited Menu

Cheez-It Court is coming to Westfield Topanga in Los Angeles with a limited food-court menu featuring a Cheez-Y-Bun and Crunchy Cheez-Dog.

Cheez-It is moving out of the snack aisle and into the mall food court. The brand teamed up with Chain to create Cheez-It Court, a month-long pop-up at Westfield Topanga in Los Angeles filled with Y2K mall nostalgia and cracker-covered food.

The custom food-court stall runs September 2 through September 30.

What is on the Cheez-It Court menu?

The announced menu turns familiar food-court favorites into Cheez-It creations:

Cheez-Y-Bun: a cinnamon roll topped with Cheez-It Extra Cheesy-seasoned cream cheese frosting, shortbread crumble, salted caramel crunch and a Cheez-It cracker

Crunchy Cheez-Dog: a premium Wagyu hot dog in a panko and Cheez-It cracker crust, finished with mustard, ketchup, a pickle, Extra Cheesy crackers and seasoning

Cheez-Steak: sliced ribeye, American cheese, grilled onions and pickled jalapeños on an Extra Cheesy-seasoned hoagie roll with dill-pickle aioli and a Hot & Spicy cracker-and-chive crumble

The Cheez-Y-Bun is easily the surprise of the menu. A cheesy cinnamon roll sounds questionable until the salted caramel and shortbread enter the picture, at which point it starts to feel like the kind of sweet-salty snack that could actually work.

Where is Cheez-It Court?

Cheez-It Court is located at Westfield Topanga, 6600 Topanga Canyon Boulevard in Canoga Park, California. It is open only from September 2 through September 30, making this a temporary experience rather than a new permanent restaurant.

The announced hours are 3-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, noon-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and noon-9 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The schedule can change, so confirm current mall and pop-up hours before making a special trip.

The pop-up’s styling leans into the era when wandering the mall and splitting food-court snacks counted as an entire afternoon plan. That nostalgia is part of the point: the collaboration pairs an exaggerated menu with the look and energy of a turn-of-the-century mall hangout.

According to the official announcement from Cheez-It and Chain, the experience is built specifically for this limited run. Check Westfield Topanga’s current hours and the brands’ social accounts before visiting, particularly if you are going for one menu item.

Arby's Steak Nuggets are back nationwide for a limited time with Horsey Ranch Sauce and new steak-and-potato and steak-and-mac bowls.

Arby’s Steak Nuggets are officially back nationwide. The bite-size steak pieces returned August 26 for a limited time, and this round brings a new dipping sauce plus two loaded bowls.

What are Arby’s Steak Nuggets?

The nuggets are pieces of steak seasoned with garlic and pepper. They are available in five-count and nine-count orders, making them an easy snack or a more substantial add-on.

They also come with a new Horsey Ranch Sauce. As the name suggests, it combines the cool, creamy flavor of ranch with the horseradish kick of Arby’s familiar Horsey Sauce.

What are the new Arby’s Steak Nugget bowls?

There are two ways to turn the returning nuggets into a full meal:

Steak ‘n Potato Bowl: crispy potatoes, cheese and Steak Nuggets

Steak ‘n Mac Bowl: white cheddar macaroni and cheese, Steak Nuggets and crispy onions

The potato bowl is the more straightforward meat-and-potatoes option. The mac bowl is richer, with white cheddar and crispy onions adding both creaminess and crunch.

How long will Arby’s Steak Nuggets be available?

Arby’s says the lineup is available nationwide for a limited time. The announcement does not provide a firm end date, and participation or inventory may vary by restaurant.

If you tried the nuggets during their previous run, the biggest reasons to revisit them are the Horsey Ranch Sauce and the two bowls. If you missed them, the five-count order is the simplest way to find out whether steak can work in nugget form.

Check the Arby’s app or your nearest restaurant’s menu for current local availability and pricing.

Arby's and Buffalo Wild Wings have new Shirley Temple-inspired drinks, including a creamy version and a strawberry dirty soda.

The Shirley Temple is having another moment, and Arby’s and Buffalo Wild Wings are leaning all the way in. The sister restaurant brands have introduced four colorful, fountain-based drinks that range from classic cherry fizz to a strawberry dirty soda topped with cold foam.

What are the new Shirley Temple drinks at Arby’s?

Arby’s has two versions:

Classic Shirley Temple: Sprite, grenadine and a premium Bordeaux cherry

Shirley ‘n Cream: Sprite and grenadine finished with cold foam and a Bordeaux cherry

The Classic keeps things recognizable. The Shirley ‘n Cream is the more modern option, borrowing the creamy finish that has made dirty sodas such a popular menu category.

What are the new drinks at Buffalo Wild Wings?

Buffalo Wild Wings takes the idea in two different directions:

Deluxe Dirty Shirley: grenadine, vanilla and Starry topped with cold foam and maraschino cherries

Strawberry Dirty Soda: strawberry puree syrup and MTN DEW with diced strawberries and cold foam

The Deluxe Dirty Shirley is the closest match to the Arby’s drinks, while the Strawberry Dirty Soda is the bolder order. MTN DEW, strawberry puree and fruit pieces make it feel closer to a dessert than a standard fountain drink.

Which one should you try?

Choose the Arby’s Classic if you want the familiar lemon-lime-and-cherry combination. Pick either cold-foam version if the creamy dirty-soda trend is the main attraction. The Buffalo Wild Wings strawberry option is for anyone who wants the brightest and sweetest drink in the group.

According to the restaurants’ official announcement, all four drinks are designed as playful takes on nostalgic flavors. Availability can vary by participating location, so check the restaurant’s app or local menu before making a special trip.

Pure Leaf's Set Break Collection includes seven Instagram giveaways with tea, tennis gear, a hammock and a premium home sauna.

Pure Leaf is turning the tennis calendar into an excuse to take an actual break. Its Set Break Collection is a run of seven Instagram giveaways featuring everything from a year’s supply of tea to a premium home sauna.

The campaign is tied to Pure Leaf partner and top-10 tennis player Amanda Anisimova, with prizes built around the idea of stepping away and resetting between busy stretches.

What can you win in the Pure Leaf Set Break Collection?

The prizes change every two days:

August 30-September 1: a year’s supply of Pure Leaf and a custom cooler

September 2-3: a premium at-home mocktail kit with lemon, raspberry and honeydew flavors designed around a tea base

September 4-5: a cable-knit Reset Sets sweater and visor

September 6-7: a tennis racquet signed by Amanda Anisimova

September 8-9: a leather Pure Leaf racquet bag

September 10-11: a hammock made from an upcycled tennis net

September 12-13: a premium Steep Suite home sauna and a cooler stocked with tea

How do you enter the Pure Leaf giveaways?

Each giveaway opens at 3 p.m. ET on its listed date. To enter, follow the instructions on the corresponding post from @PureLeaf on Instagram, including leaving the requested comment.

Because each prize has its own entry window and post, entering one does not automatically enter you for the rest. Check the official account during the dates for the item you actually want.

The standout is obviously the Steep Suite sauna, but the upcycled tennis-net hammock may be the cleverest prize in the collection. And a year’s supply of tea with a custom cooler is considerably more useful than the usual branded giveaway trinket.

According to Pure Leaf’s announcement, the collection is meant to make taking a meaningful break feel less like an afterthought. The promotion runs through September 13, so the final prizes arrive quickly.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Chamoy Mega teamed up on a limited cereal and CINNADUST chamoy sauce. Here is where and when to find both.

If your snack cabinet has been waiting for something sweet, tangy and just a little chaotic, Cinnamon Toast Crunch has answered. The cereal brand teamed up with Chamoy Mega for two limited-edition releases: a chamoy-flavored cereal and a CINNADUST-flavored chamoy sauce.

What is Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chamoy Mega cereal?

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chamoy Mega Flavored Cereal combines the familiar cinnamon-sugar crunch with the fruity, tangy flavor of chamoy. It comes in a resealable pouch and is designed for people who like their sweet snacks with a sharper edge.

The cereal dropped exclusively through CinnamonToastCrunch.com on August 31 at 1 p.m. ET. It is available only while supplies last, so this is not being positioned as a permanent grocery-store flavor.

There is a matching CINNADUST chamoy sauce

The collaboration also includes Chamoy Mega Cinnamon Toast Crunch CINNADUST Flavored Chamoy Sauce. The brand describes it as sweet and tangy, with enough flexibility to drizzle over fruit, cereal or whatever snack needs a cinnamon-chamoy moment.

The sauce is scheduled to launch September 13 at 1 p.m. ET through Chamoy Mega’s Amazon storefront, also while supplies last.

Where can you buy the new Cinnamon Toast Crunch collaboration?

The two products have different release locations:

The cereal is exclusive to CinnamonToastCrunch.com.

The chamoy sauce launches through Chamoy Mega’s Amazon storefront on September 13.

That split matters if you are hoping to collect both. Neither announcement promises a broad retail rollout, and quantities are limited.

According to the official collaboration announcement, the goal is to bring together Cinnamon Toast Crunch’s cinnamon flavor with Chamoy Mega’s sweet-and-tangy profile. It is an unusual pairing, but it makes immediate sense for anyone already adding chamoy to fruit, candy and crunchy snacks.

Would you try the cereal first, or are you holding out for that CINNADUST chamoy sauce?

Colorado’s fall colors may show up a little earlier than usual in 2026, which means this is not the year to keep saying, “We should go next weekend.” The gold can be absolutely ridiculous one day and halfway on the ground by the time you finally locate your hiking shoes.

If you are chasing Colorado fall colors near Colorado Springs, your best window is generally mid-September through early October. Higher elevations usually turn first, weather can change the whole timeline, and one early freeze or windstorm can shorten the show fast.

When Will Fall Colors Peak Near Colorado Springs In 2026?

There is no single magic peak date for the entire Pikes Peak region. Elevation, moisture, temperature and wind all matter, so Woodland Park can be glowing while parts of Colorado Springs are still mostly green.

This year, Colorado foliage is expected to run early in some areas because of the state’s dry conditions. The National Weather Service in Pueblo was still reporting significant drought across south-central and southeast Colorado in late August. That could mean earlier color, a shorter peak, and some areas going from green to brown without giving us the full golden-movie-montage moment.

The smartest plan is to pick a weekend, keep the destination flexible, and check current conditions right before you leave. Denver & Front Range Weather is especially helpful for plain-English local weather updates, while NWS Pueblo is the source to check for official forecasts and alerts.

Use This Map To Find The Best Fall Colors Near Colorado Springs

I put the most useful stops on one map so you can choose between a quick leaf-peeping escape, an easy mountain-town drive or a whole day of pretending every yellow tree needs its own photo shoot.

Open the full Colorado Springs fall-colors map

1. North Cheyenne Cañon Park

This is the easy answer when you want fall color without committing your entire day to it. North Cheyenne Cañon gives you a creek, canyon walls, winding roads and plenty of trees surprisingly close to town.

Go early, use designated pullouts, and do not become the person who stops in the road because one tree looked extra photogenic. Helen Hunt Falls makes a good turnaround point if you want scenery without turning the outing into a major expedition.

2. Pikes Peak Highway

Pikes Peak is especially fun in fall because the color changes as you climb. The lower stretches can be bright with aspens while the summit looks like an entirely different season.

Check current highway hours, weather and ticket information before leaving. It can be sunny in Colorado Springs and genuinely winter-ish higher up. Bring layers, even if the parking lot at home is trying to convince you it is still summer.

3. Cascade

Ute Pass begins climbing almost immediately west of Colorado Springs, and Cascade is one of the quickest ways to get into mountain fall scenery. It works beautifully as a short drive on its own or as the first stop on a longer loop through Green Mountain Falls and Woodland Park.

4. Green Mountain Falls

Green Mountain Falls looks like somebody built a tiny mountain town specifically for cozy-season photos. The lake, gazebo, forested hills and walkable center make it a great stop when you want to get out of the car for a while.

Parking is limited and the town is small, so respect posted signs and local driveways. A weekday morning is dramatically more peaceful than arriving at the exact same time as every other person who owns a flannel shirt.

5. Woodland Park

Woodland Park is the flexible middle point of this entire list. You can make it your destination, stop for coffee before heading farther west, or use it as the beginning of a bigger Mueller State Park and Cripple Creek loop.

The drive along Highway 24 is part of the experience, but designated overlooks and side streets are where you should stop for photos. Traffic on Ute Pass is not interested in your artistic process.

6. Mueller State Park

If you want actual aspen-grove immersion instead of seeing the leaves through a windshield, Mueller State Park is the big one. The park has miles of trails, huge mountain views and enough golden aspens to make your camera roll completely unreasonable.

Visit Colorado Springs recommends Cheesman Ranch Loop, a moderate 5.4-mile hike that moves through aspens and open meadows. A Colorado state parks pass or day-use fee is required, and dogs are not allowed on Mueller’s trails.

7. Cripple Creek

Cripple Creek gives you fall color, historic buildings and mountain-town weirdness all in one stop. It is a strong choice for people who want a full day out but do not necessarily want that day to be one endless hike.

The Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad traditionally runs into early fall, offering open-air views of the surrounding hills. Check its current schedule before building your entire day around it.

8. Vindicator Valley Trail Near Victor

Vindicator Valley Trail adds abandoned mining structures and huge views to the aspen situation, which makes it feel different from a standard leaf-peeping stop. It is exposed, high-elevation terrain, so bring water, sun protection and more layers than the weather app claims you need.

The trail also lets you stretch your legs before looping through Victor and Cripple Creek. Stay on marked routes and leave historic structures exactly where they are. “But it would look cool in my yard” is not a preservation strategy.

The Best Fall-Color Driving Loop From Colorado Springs

For the easiest mostly paved day trip, take Highway 24 west through Cascade, Green Mountain Falls and Woodland Park. Continue to Divide, visit Mueller State Park, then follow Highway 67 toward Cripple Creek and Victor. Return the way you came or choose another currently open paved route based on weather and road conditions.

Colorado’s official fall-drive guide also highlights Gold Camp Road toward Victor. Parts of the backcountry route are unpaved and conditions can change, so do not blindly follow a navigation app into a road your vehicle—or your nerves—cannot handle. Check closures and road conditions first.

Quick Colorado Fall-Color Tips

Go on a weekday if possible. Peak weekends get crowded quickly.

Start early. You will get calmer roads, easier parking and prettier light.

Chase elevation, not one promised date. If one area is still green, head higher. If the high country is finished, look lower.

Check weather and road conditions that morning. Colorado can fit three seasons into one afternoon.

Use designated parking. Do not block traffic, private property or emergency access for a photo.

Leave the leaves. Take pictures and memories, not branches from public land.

So, Where Should You Go First?

For a quick outing, choose North Cheyenne Cañon or the Ute Pass towns. For the most immersive aspen experience, go straight to Mueller State Park. For a full Colorful Colorado day, make the Woodland Park–Mueller–Cripple Creek–Victor loop and accept that you are going to come home with 400 nearly identical photos of yellow trees.

And honestly? That is exactly what September in Colorado is for.

Conditions, hours, fees and road access can change. Check official park, highway and weather sources before leaving home.

From “rabbit rabbit” to cinnamon at the doorway, these first-of-the-month good-luck traditions are real folklore—with honest notes about what we can verify.

TL;DR: First-of-the-month customs include saying “rabbit rabbit,” the “pinch and a punch” playground rhyme, a documented stair-walking superstition, and the modern cinnamon doorway ritual. Their histories are uneven: some appear in older print or folklore archives, while others spread recently through families and social media. They are traditions, not guarantees—and one of them should stay in the archive instead of on your staircase.

The first day of a month is objectively just a square on a calendar. Humans looked at that perfectly ordinary square and said, “This needs rabbits, cinnamon, minor playground violence, and possibly a staircase.”

I love that for us. I do not love when the internet gives every quirky custom one dramatic “ancient” origin that nobody can source. So here are the first-of-the-month traditions people actually pass around, along with what we can—and cannot—verify about where they came from.

Why does the first of the month feel lucky?

The first gives us a clean boundary. Folklore loves boundaries: doorways, midnight, seasons changing, one year becoming another. A new month is small enough to arrive often but big enough to feel like a reset.

That does not mean every custom below has one shared origin. “First day” is the common structure; the sayings and rituals grew in different places and periods.

1. Saying “rabbit rabbit” before anything else

The best-known rule is to say “rabbit rabbit” as your first spoken words on the first morning of the month. Variants include “rabbits,” “white rabbits,” and three rabbits. All are meant to bring luck for the month ahead.

A 1909 issue of the British journal Notes and Queries contains an often-cited printed description of children saying “rabbits” for luck. North American folklore collections record family and school versions too. The phrase’s exact beginning remains uncertain, so be suspicious of anyone assigning it one perfect ancient backstory.

We dug into the history, variations, and what happens when your first words are accidentally about coffee in this guide to why people say “rabbit rabbit”.

2. Saying “white rabbits”

“White rabbits” belongs to the same family of monthly sayings, but some households treat it as the only correct version. That is how oral tradition works: a rule learned from your grandmother can feel universal even when the family three streets over learned different words.

The USC Digital Folklore Archives includes a version using “white rabbit” on the first of the month. The color may draw on white animals as unusual or auspicious symbols, but that is an interpretation, not a proved origin for the phrase.

3. “A pinch and a punch for the first of the month”

This is a British and Commonwealth playground custom: someone says the rhyme while delivering a pinch and a light punch, usually before noon. Variations add a response, including “a flick and a kick for being so quick.”

Museums Victoria’s Play and Folklore documents the rhyme and its comeback as children’s verbal lore. Its exact origin is not settled.

Please preserve the rhyme and skip actually hurting anybody. “It is folklore” will not improve your conversation with HR.

4. Walking backward down the stairs

A University of Maine folklore collection records a school-age belief that walking backward down the stairs on the first day of the month would bring good luck. It is a fascinating example of how specific and wonderfully weird local customs can become.

It is also a terrible activity. Do not walk backward down real stairs. Read the archived folklore collection, appreciate the historical detail, and keep your body facing the direction in which gravity is trying to take it.

5. Blowing cinnamon through the front door

On the first day of the month, some people stand outside their open front door and direct a pinch of ground cinnamon inward. The practice symbolizes inviting abundance, opportunity, and warmth into the home.

Cinnamon has a long history of culinary, medicinal, fragrant, and ceremonial use, but the exact monthly doorway ritual is better described as contemporary folk practice than as a proven ancient rite. The USC folklore archive documents it as a belief shared through family and online circulation.

If you want to try it, follow the full cinnamon doorway instructions and safety notes. A tiny sprinkle is safer than creating airborne spice, especially around children, pets, or respiratory sensitivities.

6. Creating your own practical monthly reset

Not every tradition needs to be inherited. Modern rituals often combine symbolism with planning: light a candle, write an intention, check the calendar, review bill dates, and choose one action for the month.

That is not ancient folklore, and we should not pretend it is. It is a contemporary way to use the same threshold idea—the old month ended, the new one needs your attention. This 10-minute first-of-the-month reset gives you a version you can finish before your coffee gets cold.

Do these good-luck traditions work?

There is no scientific evidence that saying rabbit or placing cinnamon at a threshold causes luck to arrive. Traditions can still do something real: connect people to family, give time a shape, create a moment of hope, and prompt an action.

You can believe in magic, enjoy the history, or just like a monthly excuse to reset. The honest line is simple: do not turn symbolism into a guarantee, and do not turn a charming custom into a safety hazard.

How to start a first-of-the-month tradition

Choose one practice that fits your beliefs and home.

Keep it easy enough to repeat.

Tell the people joining you where the custom came from—and what remains uncertain.

Add one concrete action for the month ahead.

Change the ritual when it stops feeling useful. There is no First-of-the-Month Licensing Board.

If moon cycles feel more meaningful than calendar pages, you might prefer learning how to begin a moon ritual. A good practice should help you pay attention—not make you pretend someone else’s tradition is yours.

Use this realistic 10-minute first-of-the-month reset to check your calendar, money, space, and one meaningful next step—without rebuilding your life.

TL;DR: A useful first-of-the-month reset can take 10 minutes: scan your calendar, check the bills and balances that matter, clear one tiny surface, choose one priority, and make one “if-then” plan. You are not rebuilding your personality. You are giving the next month fewer ways to surprise you.

New-month content has a branding problem. It always seems to require a pristine planner, a new morning routine, fourteen matching storage bins, and becoming the kind of person who enjoys decanting oats.

No. We are doing ten minutes.

This reset is for the first day of the month—or the third, or the ninth, when you finally notice the calendar changed. It is practical enough to help and small enough to finish.

What is a first-of-the-month reset?

A first-of-the-month reset is a short check-in that helps you see what is coming, handle one source of friction, and choose one next action. It is not a full budget meeting, deep clean, goal summit, or life overhaul squeezed into a suspiciously photogenic Sunday.

The calendar change simply gives you a cue. You can add meaning with a spiritual ritual like blowing cinnamon through the doorway, but the reset still works if your strongest belief is in avoiding late fees.

The 10-minute first-of-the-month reset

Minutes 0–2: Look at the calendar

Open the calendar you actually use. Look for appointments, birthdays, school days, travel, deadlines, renewals, and anything requiring preparation. Do not optimize it. Just find the places Future You is most likely to yell at Present You.

Add one missing event.

Set one useful reminder.

Notice the busiest week.

Minutes 2–4: Check the money dates

Scan upcoming bills, subscriptions, paydays, and any unusually large expense. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s bill-calendar guidance recommends collecting what you owe, when it is due, and using the calendar regularly. You are doing the tiny version.

If something looks wrong, write down the action. Do not spend the remaining eight minutes fighting a cable company chatbot unless that is the one priority you choose.

Minutes 4–6: Clear one visible friction point

Pick one tiny surface or digital pile: the kitchen counter, the entry table, your downloads folder, or ten screenshots you no longer need. Stop when the timer moves on.

The goal is not a clean house. It is one less spot silently demanding your attention every time you pass it.

Minutes 6–8: Choose one priority

Ask: “If one thing is meaningfully better by the end of this month, what do I want it to be?” Choose one answer small enough to influence. “Feel less stressed” is understandable but vague. “Walk for ten minutes after lunch three days a week” gives you somewhere to begin.

If you want a longer version of this step, use these ideas for setting an intention you can actually remember.

Minutes 8–10: Make one if-then plan

Turn your priority into a simple cue and response:

If [a specific situation happens], then I will [take one specific action].

If I finish lunch on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, then I will walk for ten minutes.

If I open social media before my important task, then I will close it and work for five minutes first.

If my paycheck arrives, then I will move the planned amount to savings that day.

Researchers call these implementation intentions. Reviews of planning interventions—including a systematic review in PLOS ONE—suggest that specific if-then plans can help translate intentions into action, although results vary by context and a plan is not a guarantee.

What should you write down?

Keep a five-line note you can reuse every month:

Coming up: the date that needs preparation.

Money: the bill, renewal, or purchase to watch.

Clear: the one friction point you handled.

Priority: what you want to improve.

If-then: the cue and action you chose.

That is enough. If you want to build a bigger routine later, make sure it does not become another source of guilt. These productive-routine ideas for exhausted people start from the same premise.

What if you miss the first?

Do the reset when you remember. Calendars are tools, not moral scorecards. The first gives you a memorable cue, but the best reset date is the one on which you actually stop for ten minutes.

You can also borrow another cue: the first payday, the first school day, the new moon, or the day you change an air filter. Repetition matters more than aesthetic timing.

Can this be a spiritual ritual?

Absolutely. Light a candle, pull a card, say “rabbit rabbit” for luck, pray, or name what you are releasing and welcoming. Then do the calendar and money checks anyway. Spiritual meaning and practical follow-through are allowed to share a room.

People say “rabbit rabbit” before anything else on the first day of the month for good luck. Here is the folklore, history, rules, and variations.

TL;DR: Saying “rabbit rabbit” before anything else on the first morning of the month is a good-luck superstition documented in Britain and North America. The exact origin is uncertain, the wording varies, and forgetting it does not doom your month. It is a tiny piece of living folklore—two funny words used to mark a fresh start.

There are two kinds of people on the first of the month: people who say “rabbit rabbit” before their feet hit the floor, and people who open their phones, see those words everywhere, and wonder if the entire internet joined a very polite bunny cult.

The phrase is a real good-luck custom. The basic rule is to make “rabbit rabbit” your first spoken words on day one of a new month. That is supposed to bring luck until the calendar flips again.

Why do people say “rabbit rabbit” on the first of the month?

People say “rabbit rabbit” because folklore treats the phrase as a monthly good-luck charm. Saying it first turns an ordinary date change into a deliberate beginning: new page, new month, please send snacks and favorable circumstances.

The custom appears in several forms—“rabbit rabbit,” “rabbits,” “white rabbits,” and “rabbit rabbit rabbit.” The USC Digital Folklore Archives records versions learned through families, while the University of Detroit Mercy folklore archive catalogs first-of-the-month rabbit sayings as good-luck beliefs.

Where did “rabbit rabbit” come from?

No one has proved one clean origin story. The earliest widely cited printed example comes from a 1909 issue of the British journal Notes and Queries, which described children saying “rabbits” on the first day of the month for luck. That tells us the custom was already recognizable by then; it does not tell us who invented it.

Later accounts show the saying traveling through British and North American family tradition. HISTORY’s overview of rabbit luck connects the phrase to a much wider history of rabbits and hares as symbols of fertility, protection, and good fortune—but the evidence does not support declaring one of those beliefs the official source.

In other words: the tradition is old enough to have history, but messy enough to still be folklore. Honestly, that is part of the charm.

What are the rules for saying “rabbit rabbit”?

Say it on the first day of the month. Morning is customary.

Make it your first spoken phrase. Thinking it or typing it usually does not count in the strict version.

Use the version you learned. “Rabbit rabbit,” “white rabbits,” and three-rabbit versions all exist.

Do not panic if you forget. This is folklore, not a cosmic contract with late fees.

If you like giving day one a little more ceremony, pair the phrase with the first-of-the-month cinnamon doorway ritual or this very realistic 10-minute monthly reset.

What if you forget to say it first?

You can simply say it when you remember. Some modern versions prescribe “tibbar tibbar”—rabbit backward—before bed on the last day of the month, but that is another variation, not a universally documented reset button. You are also allowed to accept that your first words were “where is my charger?” and continue living.

The useful part is the pause. A monthly cue can make you notice that time is moving and choose how you want to meet it. If the ritual makes you smile, it worked at least that much.

Why rabbits?

Rabbits have been treated as lucky in many places, but not always for the same reason. Their quick movement, burrows, large litters, and appearance at dawn and dusk have all made them easy symbols for fertility, escape, protection, and liminal spaces. The famous lucky rabbit’s foot belongs to that broader family of beliefs, though it has its own complicated history.

That symbolic background may help explain why a rabbit phrase felt lucky enough to repeat. It still does not prove a single origin, and good folklore writing should be able to say “we do not know” without inventing an ancient grandmother with a secret spellbook.

Is “white rabbits” the same tradition?

Yes, it is a close variant. Some families say “white rabbits,” some say it three times, and others use “rabbit rabbit.” The regional and household differences are exactly what we expect from an oral custom passed person to person instead of issued by the Official Monthly Rabbit Department.

You can see the rabbit saying alongside other documented first-of-the-month good-luck traditions, including a playground rhyme, a genuinely risky stair superstition, and the very modern cinnamon-at-the-door ritual.

People blow cinnamon through the front door on the first of the month for abundance. Here is what it means, how to do it, and how to keep it safe.

TL;DR: People blow a small pinch of ground cinnamon from outside through their open front door on the first day of the month as a ritual for welcoming abundance, opportunity, and a fresh start into the home. It is a spiritual practice, not a money guarantee. Keep the powder away from faces, children, pets, and anyone with breathing problems; gently sprinkling a tiny amount across the threshold works as a lower-dust alternative.

If you are reading this on the first of the month, your timing is honestly perfect.

You may have seen people standing outside their front doors with cinnamon in one hand, taking a breath, and sending a little cloud of the spice into the house. It looks slightly chaotic. It smells incredible. And there is a reason they are doing it on day one.

The cinnamon doorway ritual is used as a symbolic reset: the old month is over, the new one is open, and you are intentionally inviting good things to cross the threshold with you.

Why do people blow cinnamon through the front door?

People blow cinnamon through the front door because cinnamon is associated in modern folk-magic practice with warmth, prosperity, success, and fast-moving energy. The doorway represents the boundary between the outside world and your home, so blowing the spice inward symbolizes welcoming abundance into your space.

Abundance does not have to mean a surprise pile of cash, either. It can mean steadier work, more time, a useful opportunity, creative momentum, a calmer home, or finally noticing the good thing that was already trying to get your attention.

If this is your kind of thing, my guide to manifesting what you want without a vision board pairs well with it because it puts the actual next step back into the ritual.

Is the cinnamon doorway ritual ancient?

Cinnamon itself has centuries of documented use in food, fragrance, medicine, and ceremonial life, but I could not verify one reliable historical source for this exact “front door on the first of every month” ritual. The USC Digital Folklore Archives documents it as a contemporary folk belief shared through families and online communities.

That matters because the internet loves to label every popular spiritual practice “ancient” and assign it one neat origin story. This one does not have a single origin I can responsibly prove. The honest description is a modern prosperity ritual built from much older symbolic ideas about cinnamon, thresholds, and new beginnings.

How do you do the first-of-the-month cinnamon ritual?

You need ground cinnamon, your front door, and one clear intention. That is it. No special bowl. No moon phase math. No emergency trip to a metaphysical shop.

Clear the threshold. Sweep away dirt or clutter so the entrance feels like a clean beginning.

Use one small pinch. This should be a light dusting, not a handful or a cinnamon challenge.

Stand outside and face into your home. The traditional direction is outside to inside because you are symbolically bringing something in.

Name what you are welcoming. Pick one grounded intention for the month: opportunity, steadiness, courage, paid work, creativity, or connection.

Blow very gently—or sprinkle it. Send the cinnamon across the threshold, away from your face and anyone else nearby.

Follow it with action. Send the email, make the plan, update the résumé, open the savings account, or do the one real-world thing that gives your intention somewhere to land.

What should you say while blowing the cinnamon?

You do not need a borrowed incantation. Say something you actually believe. I like:

Abundance and opportunity are welcome here. I enter this month with intention, courage, and room for good things.

Change the words if they feel too polished. The useful part is naming what you want clearly enough that you can recognize it—and act on it—when it shows up.

Does it have to be done on the first day of the month?

No. The first is popular because calendars hand us an obvious reset point, but there are no cinnamon police. If you remember on the second, do it on the second. You can also use the ritual when you move, start a job, reopen a business, or need a deliberate fresh start.

The date gives the practice structure; your attention gives it meaning. That is also why the “best” time to manifest is usually the time when you will actually follow through.

Is blowing cinnamon through the door safe?

A tiny amount can still become airborne powder, so treat it like a spice—not glitter. Do not inhale it, aim it toward anyone, or let children copy the cinnamon challenge. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health warns that inhaling or swallowing dry cinnamon powder can cause serious harm, and cinnamon can also irritate skin.

Use a pinch, not a palmful.

Skip blowing if you have asthma, respiratory sensitivity, or a strong spice allergy.

Keep faces, eyes, children, and other people away from the powder.

Do not substitute cinnamon essential oil. Concentrated oil is a different exposure entirely.

Clean the cinnamon up once the ritual feels complete. It does not need to sit there for 24 hours.

Can you do the cinnamon ritual if you have pets?

The safest choice is to keep pets in another closed room and clean up the loose powder before they return. According to the Pet Poison Helpline, pets that inhale cinnamon powder can experience coughing, choking, breathing difficulty, and lung irritation; cinnamon essential oil is more concentrated and can be dangerous in small amounts.

If airborne powder is a bad idea in your home, place a sealed jar of cinnamon near the door while you state your intention, draw a cinnamon-colored line on paper, or simply touch the closed spice jar to the threshold. Symbolism does not require making your dog sneeze.

Does the cinnamon ritual actually work?

There is no scientific evidence that cinnamon at a doorway causes money or luck to arrive. What a ritual can do is interrupt autopilot, make you name what you want, and create a repeatable moment to choose your next action.

If you believe it is magic, do it like magic. If you think it is a monthly mindset reset that makes your entryway smell amazing, do it like that. Either way, pair the cinnamon with something concrete. Intention without action is just very fragrant procrastination.

Want to build out the ritual without covering the house in spices? Try a tiny kitchen-witch altar or make a simple protection spell jar next.

New to paddleboarding? These nine Colorado lakes are beautiful places to practice, including small lakes near Colorado Springs and my favorite, Rampart Reservoir.

Quick answer: If you are learning to paddleboard near Colorado Springs, start with Quail Lake, Monument Lake, Palmer Lake, or Prospect Lake on a non-motorized day. Rampart Reservoir is my actual favorite, and Haviland Lake is my favorite near Durango. Save Rampart, South Catamount, and Lake Pueblo for a day when you are comfortable getting back on your board and the wind is behaving.

This is a beginner-friendly guide, not a promise that every lake will be calm on the day you arrive. Rules, water levels, closures, permits, and weather can change. The linked official sources were checked on September 1, 2026, but check them again before you load the board.

I am still new enough to paddleboarding that I do not want an “adventure” every single time I get on the water.

I want pretty. I want calm. I want somewhere I can practice standing up without immediately being launched into a speedboat wake while a family of geese judges me.

And yes, I am doing all of this on the neon-green paddleboard that was supposed to be pink. I have accepted the green. Mostly.

These are nine Colorado paddleboarding spots worth putting on a beginner’s list. Most are in or around Colorado Springs, with one very important exception near Durango because Haviland Lake is gorgeous and I refuse to leave it out.

Where are these Colorado paddleboarding spots?

Most of these lakes are clustered around Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Haviland Lake is the outlier near Durango—and yes, it is far enough away that it needs its own trip. Tap any lake below to open it in Google Maps.

South Catamount Reservoir

Rampart Reservoir

Monument Lake

Haviland Lake

Prospect Lake

Wolf Lake

Palmer Lake

Quail Lake

Lake Pueblo State Park

1. South Catamount Reservoir

Best for: Alpine scenery and a quiet-feeling paddle once you are comfortable on your board.

South Catamount is the dramatic one. It sits high on Pikes Peak, surrounded by forest, with the kind of mountain views that make it hard to believe you are still this close to Colorado Springs.

The reservoir reopened for the 2026 season after a multi-year dam project. Non-motorized watercraft are allowed, and the city specifically identifies the North Slope reservoirs as places to paddleboard, canoe, and kayak.

This is not my first pick for somebody’s literal first ten minutes on a board. You have to carry your watercraft from the parking area, trailers are prohibited on the Pikes Peak Highway, the water is cold, and the elevation is over 9,000 feet. Swimming and wading are prohibited, too, so you need to be confident that you can remount your board if you fall.

Also: you must wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket while you are on the water here. Check the North Slope Recreation Area’s current season, access, parking, and boating rules before you go.

2. Rampart Reservoir

Best for: A full mountain-lake day once you are ready for colder water, a rougher drive, and wind that can change the plan fast.

Rampart Reservoir—up in the Rampart Range—is my actual favorite.

It sits at about 9,000 feet in Pike National Forest, surrounded by mountain and forest views that make it feel much farther from Colorado Springs than it really is. Getting there is part of the experience: the access road can be rough and washboarded, vehicle access requires a day-use fee, and seasonal closures can affect the route.

Paddleboards and other watercraft are allowed, but current Forest Service water-use rules prohibit entering the reservoir except on a boat or watercraft. The reservoir is deep, cold, and exposed enough for wind and waves to build quickly, so this is not where I would send someone for their very first attempt at standing up.

Wear the life jacket, stay aware of how far the wind is pushing you from shore, and turn back before a pretty lake day becomes a rescue situation. Check the Forest Service’s current Rampart Reservoir access and fee information before you go.

3. Monument Lake

Best for: A smaller lake that feels less intimidating than a giant reservoir.

Monument Lake is one of the places I would send a nervous beginner because you can see the shoreline, the setting is pretty, and you are not staring across a huge open expanse of water wondering whether you have made a terrible mistake.

Inflatable and portable watercraft can be launched from shore. Gas and diesel motors are prohibited, although electric trolling motors are allowed. The town warns about shallow areas and submerged obstacles, so this is still a pay-attention situation—not a float-around-with-your-eyes-closed situation.

Read the Town of Monument’s current lake page and rules before heading out because the town can close the lake when conditions require it.

4. Haviland Lake

Best for: Calm mountain-lake energy near Durango. Also for making me want to stay forever.

Haviland Lake is about 18 miles north of Durango, tucked into the San Juan National Forest with pine trees, mountain views, and actual camping nearby.

This one is my favorite near Durango.

It is a wakeless lake, and the Forest Service says only boats powered by an electric trolling motor or rowed by hand are allowed. That removes a lot of the chaos that can make a new paddleboarder tense up before even leaving shore.

Mountain weather still gets a vote. Summer thunderstorms can arrive quickly at elevation, and cold water is cold water even when the air feels perfect. Check the San Juan National Forest campground and recreation guide and current local conditions before making the drive.

5. Prospect Lake

Best for: Learning in town, especially if you want access to a rental vendor.

Prospect Lake is inside Memorial Park, the big urban park near downtown Colorado Springs that plenty of locals darkly call Murder Park.

And that nickname did not appear out of nowhere. A body was recovered from Prospect Lake in 2017, another was recovered in 2023, and fatal drownings have happened there.

So yes, Prospect is convenient, right in town, and beginner-friendly on the correct non-motorized days. But if practicing your balance while thinking about swimming with the fishes—and the dead people—is going to ruin the mood, choose literally any of the prettier mountain options on this list.

If you do go, use active daytime hours, keep normal city-park awareness, and check the current lake status before unloading anything.

The big thing to know is the schedule. Prospect alternates between motorized and non-motorized use. As of this check, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday are the non-motorized days—the days that make sense for a paddleboard. A watercraft permit is required.

There are also on-site rental options, which is useful if you want to try paddleboarding before buying an enormous inflatable object that will immediately take over a closet.

Use the City of Colorado Springs lakes page to confirm the current schedule, permits, closures, and rental information.

6. Wolf Lake

Best for: Practicing balance on a small lake on the north side of Colorado Springs.

Wolf Lake is the little neighborhood lake in Wolf Ranch, near 10107 Wolf Lake Drive. Its size is exactly what makes it appealing when you are learning: shore never feels impossibly far away.

There are rules here that are easy to miss. The lake is owned by the Old Ranch Metropolitan District, and public recreational access is a privilege rather than a guaranteed public right. Stand-up paddleboards are allowed, but you need an ORMD boating permit and must launch at or next to the dock. Swimming, wading, and other bodily contact with the water are prohibited.

In other words: small and peaceful, yes. Casual free-for-all, no.

Read the official Wolf Lake rules and confirm the current permit process before loading your board.

7. Palmer Lake

Best for: A relaxed small-lake morning with mountain-town scenery.

Palmer Lake feels approachable. Non-motorized boats—including stand-up paddleboards—are permitted and must be hand-launched. The lake is small enough that a beginner can work on turning, stopping, and standing without feeling like they have entered open-water survival school.

The town does not recommend swimming because of heavy vegetation, so stay alert, wear your PFD, and do not treat falling in as the planned activity.

Check the Town of Palmer Lake parks page and current lake-use rules before you go.

8. Quail Lake

Best for: A quick, convenient paddle with Cheyenne Mountain views.

Quail Lake is easy to reach in Colorado Springs, gas-powered watercraft are prohibited, and the lake is open to permitted watercraft from sunrise to sunset unless a special event or weather closure changes things.

A day pass or annual watercraft permit is required. Swimming and diving from your board are prohibited, and nobody should be on the lake during an electrical storm. This is Colorado, so “but the sky looked fine ten minutes ago” is not a weather plan.

The city lists paddleboard rentals at Quail, too. Check the current Quail Lake rules and permit information before leaving home.

9. Lake Pueblo State Park

Best for: Exploring once you are comfortable—and for graduating from tiny-lake laps.

Lake Pueblo is huge compared with the other beginner spots on this list. That makes it fun to explore, but it also means wind and waves can become real problems quickly.

The park allows paddleboarding on the main reservoir and requires life jackets. Newer paddlers should stick close to shore, choose a protected cove, go early, and turn around the second the wind starts making decisions for them.

Check the official Lake Pueblo State Park boating, paddleboarding, and weather guidance before your trip.

What should a beginner bring paddleboarding in Colorado?

A properly fitted life jacket. Paddleboards count as vessels under Colorado boating rules. Wear it instead of strapping it to the board where it can float away without you.

The right leash for the water you are paddling. Follow the board maker’s instructions and local rules.

A whistle or other sound-producing device.

Your name and address marked on the board. Colorado Parks and Wildlife lists this as required gear for paddleboards.

Water, sunscreen, and layers. Mountain sun is rude, and Colorado weather changes its mind constantly.

A dry bag for your phone and keys. Your car key does not need a lake day.

A pump, patch kit, and whatever tiny piece your fin requires. Ask me how fun it is to discover a missing part at the shoreline.

Highly rated paddleboarding gear worth packing

I skipped the random gadgets and went straight for the boring-but-useful stuff with strong Amazon ratings and enough reviews to mean something:

Onyx MoveVent Dynamic paddle vest — A U.S. Coast Guard–approved paddling life jacket with open shoulders and ventilation, so it is less annoying when you are actually trying to paddle. Check the size chart and fit before you get on the water.

Abahub 10-foot coiled SUP leash — A padded, tangle-resistant ankle leash for the flat-water lakes in this guide.

LuxoGear pealess emergency whistles — A loud two-pack with no little ball inside to jam, break, or freeze. Clip one to your life jacket instead of burying it in your dry bag.

Earth Pak roll-top dry bag — A waterproof gear bag that includes a phone case and has a giant review history. Roll the top correctly, then secure the bag to your board.

Sun Bum Original SPF 50 lotion — Broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with the kind of review count that makes it a much safer pick than a mystery bottle. Reapply it according to the label.

Important leash note: A coiled ankle leash is a flat-water pick. Moving water and rivers create entanglement hazards and call for different equipment, local knowledge, and an appropriate quick-release system.

Clean, drain, and completely dry your paddleboard and gear between lakes so you do not carry invasive species with you. Colorado Parks and Wildlife has the statewide paddleboarding gear and water-safety guidance. The rules for the specific lake still matter, too.

The beginner tip that matters most

Go early in the morning.

The water is often calmer, the boat traffic is lighter, and you have a better chance of being off the lake before Colorado’s afternoon wind and thunderstorms show up to ruin everybody’s cute little plan.

Falling in is part of learning. Just remember that some drinking-water reservoirs prohibit swimming, wading, or deliberate body contact, so those are better once you can reliably get back on your board.

Start small. Stay close to shore. Wear the life jacket. Check the wind—not just the temperature—and leave before the lake stops being fun.

Then go find the prettiest calm water you can and stand up.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Colorado Springs lake for a first-time paddleboarder?

Quail Lake, Monument Lake, Palmer Lake, and Prospect Lake on a non-motorized day are the most approachable choices on this list. The best one depends on current wind, access, permits, and whether you need a rental.

Can you paddleboard at South Catamount Reservoir?

Yes. The City of Colorado Springs allows non-motorized watercraft at the North Slope reservoirs and identifies them as paddleboarding locations. Access is seasonal, trailers are prohibited, watercraft must be carried to the entry point, and boaters must wear an approved life jacket. Swimming and wading are prohibited.

Can you paddleboard at Rampart Reservoir?

Yes. Watercraft are allowed at Rampart Reservoir, but swimming and body contact with the water are prohibited. The high-elevation reservoir is cold and can become windy quickly, so wear a life jacket, stay within your abilities, and check current Forest Service access conditions before going.

Do you need a permit to paddleboard in Colorado Springs?

It depends on the lake. Quail Lake and Prospect Lake require city watercraft permits. Wolf Lake requires an Old Ranch Metropolitan District boating permit. Other locations have their own entrance, parking, launch, or seasonal-access rules.

When is the best time to paddleboard in Colorado?

Early morning is usually the best bet for lighter wind and fewer afternoon thunderstorms. Always check the lake-specific forecast immediately before launching and get off the water if lightning or strong wind develops.

Which beginner paddleboarding spot near Durango is best?

Haviland Lake is my favorite near Durango because it is scenic, wakeless, and surrounded by mountain and forest views. Rampart Reservoir is my overall favorite. Weather and cold water still matter at both, even on a calm-looking day.

Fabuloso Made a Pumpkin Spice Cleaner Because Fall Has No Boundaries

Fabuloso Pumpkin Spice Season Scent is a limited-edition 2X concentrated cleaner with pumpkin, cinnamon, and clove fragrance notes.

Short answer: Fabuloso Pumpkin Spice Season Scent is a limited-edition 2X Concentrated Multi-Purpose Cleaner with pumpkin, cinnamon, and clove fragrance notes. The 33.8-ounce bottle is available at Walmart with a suggested retail price of $3.97.

We have officially reached the stage of fall where even the floor cleaner smells like a pumpkin patch.

Fabuloso made a limited-edition Pumpkin Spice cleaner, because apparently pumpkin spice will not rest until it has taken over every room in the house.

What does Fabuloso Pumpkin Spice smell like?

Fabuloso describes the seasonal scent as a blend of pumpkin, golden cinnamon, and a hint of clove. It is intended to leave the same long-lasting fragrance associated with the brand’s other cleaners, only with a very fall-specific personality.

We have not smelled or used it ourselves, so the scent description comes directly from the product information provided by Fabuloso.

Is the pumpkin spice Fabuloso a regular cleaner?

Yes. This is a seasonal scent of Fabuloso’s 2X Concentrated Multi-Purpose Cleaner, not a decorative room spray.

The brand says it delivers the same multi-surface cleaning performance as its other 2X concentrated formulas. Use it only as directed on the package, and check the label for the complete surface, dilution, ingredient, and safety instructions.

Where can you buy Fabuloso Pumpkin Spice cleaner?

The limited-edition 33.8-ounce bottle is available at Walmart with a suggested retail price of $3.97. Because it is a seasonal product, store inventory can vary and may sell through before the end of fall.

Check Walmart’s current listing or your local cleaning aisle before making a special trip. This is a product launch, not a one-day freebie or an already-expired offer.

Is pumpkin spice cleaning officially too far?

Maybe, but this is not even the strangest place pumpkin spice has appeared. We have already encountered pumpkin spice trash bags, and there is an entire universe of pumpkin-spice products that have absolutely no business tasting or smelling like dessert.

At least a cinnamon-and-clove cleaning scent makes a certain kind of sense. Your kitchen smells cozy, your floors are clean, and nobody had to drink a pumpkin-flavored water enhancer to make it happen.

You can review Fabuloso’s regular formulas and usage guidance on the official Fabuloso product page.

Product information and approved campaign imagery were provided by Fabuloso. We have not personally used or smelled this limited-edition scent. Price and store availability may vary.
