My daughter pretty much hasn’t taken this googly-eye headband off since I made it for her. I don’t blame her. I kind of want one for myself.
A plain headband and a pile of googly eyes become a little monster accessory, and the different eye sizes are what make it so cute. It’s an easy Halloween detail without an entire costume situation.
What you need
- A plain headband
- Googly eyes in assorted sizes
- Glue suitable for the headband and the backs of the eyes
How to make a googly-eye headband
- Arrange the eyes along the outside of the headband before gluing. Mix larger eyes with smaller ones, as shown in the original photo tutorial below.
- Add glue to the back of an eye and press it onto the headband.
- Continue along the headband, using smaller eyes between the larger ones.
- Let the glue set according to its directions before wearing the headband.
The original tutorial shows glue on the backs of the eyes. Follow the adhesive’s instructions for the materials you’re using; if you choose hot glue, an adult should handle that part.
